2008 PTA FOUNDERS DAY BANQUET
Planning Information for Local Units
In celebration of the founding of the National PTA, El Paso Council PTA is planning the annual Volunteer of the Year banquet for local PTA volunteers. This year’s banquet will take place on Friday, February 29 (Leap Day) at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 7290 Commerce Center Drive. The theme will be a Tropical Rainforest. Social Hour will be from 6:00pm. to 7:00pm. and will feature a cash bar. Dinner and program will begin at 7:00 p.m. The dinner is $25.00 per person.
SPECIAL AWARDS: Each unit is asked to choose two award recipients to receive special recognition that evening. Our only guidelines are that they be members of your PTA/PTSA and have a love for children. Choose two people your unit feels have made the world better for all children. You may choose to honor parents, teachers, members of your school’s support staff, or anyone you feel is a special member of your unit. Each unit must submit the award recipient form printed in this newsletter by February 22 to Julie Coffee (see form for details).
Your unit’s invitation and reservation information will be mailed to the president separately. You may make your reservation by mailing the following form to Kathleen Zoll at 6710 Quarter Circle Road, Colorado Springs, 80922 by February 22. Remember...spouses and guests are always welcome!!
Many units take this opportunity to thank officers, board members, and special volunteers by inviting them as their guests. This is an appropriate use of PTA funds. Your PTA unit may determine what amount, if any will be paid from PTA funds. QUESTIONS? Call KATHLEEN ZOLL at 591-0527
